can i set the hdri environment static to relation of the object?

Hello
is there a way to set the hdri environment static in relation to an object, like a car
Idea is to create a camera animation, where the background (HDRI) will move in synch with the car
Currently the background moves irregulary when i animate the camera
Goal is, that the position of the HDRI stays in synch with the car at any time
Any ideas how to achieve this with keyshot?

The HDRI is a dome shaped background around your entire scene and it’s static. You could make an actual dome geometry and apply the HDRI you use and group it with the car. So basically you animate both. But I wonder if that gives the right effect if you animate the car since you will have the same distance no matter if the car is driving towards you or not. If it’s just a sky that ain’t a big problem.

Thanks for the reply
I want to animate the camera and not the car, so that should be ok then
how could i handle the floor, assuming that the dome shape needs to have removed the lower half

It depends a lot on your actual scene, if you click ‘flatten ground’ KeyShot will actually project the lower half of the HDRI as ground. While that can be a possibility to model as well it often looks quite nasty because the resolution will be really low closer to the centre.

I think it’s easier to actually put a plane there and a high res texture. I’d like to cheat with a bit of DOF so you won’t really notice it in the rendering and if often looks pretty cool as well.

About your actual question, I thought there was some other way to keep the HDRI in a specific angle compared to the object and was googling but no luck yet.

I too spent a couple of hours to find a soution for that, but so far nothing came up
so i think i will do it in 3ds max or UE instead using keyshot
Thnaks for your help
